Major Achievements of All India Kamboj Maha Sabha

  1. Block level, District Level and State Level Bodies have been formed in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi, HP and Maharashtra.
  2. A National and Global platform for the uplift, welfare of Kamboj Community and to protect and promote interests of the community has been created.
  3. The Martyrdom day & Birth Anniversaries of National Hero Shaheed Udham Singh, Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Mehrok, Shaheed Bhai Dyala Mutti, Bhai Mahi Singh Josan, Shaeed Sukha Singh Mehrok, Baba Bhuman Shah, Baba Chhajal Shah, Tomba Mela and other freedom fighters & great personalities are being celebrated every year at many places throughout the country with great enthusiasm.
  4. With the vigorous efforts of All India Kamboj Maha Sabha the remains and ashes of Shaheed Udham Singh from London to his native place Sunam were brought through Govt. of Punjab and Govt. of India to Delhi on 19th July 1974 and thereafter these ashes were taken to Sunam on 31st July 1974 as per his last wishes for cremation as per his last wishes and befitting receptions in a glorious way in very huge processions at various places in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab & Uttar Pradesh were accorded. The rites of cremation were performed at Sunam on 31st July, 1974 and later on, the ashes were emerged in the waters of river Sutlej at Kiratpur Sahib in Punjab on 2nd August 1974 and were emerged on 3rd August 1974 in the waters of River Ganga at Har-Ki-Pauri Haridwar in UP and were buried at Roza Sharif Sirhind in Punjab on 21st August 1974. The reception of remains/ ashes were arranged at Kapurthala House, New Delhi by All India Kamboj Maha Sabha after joint meeting with cabinet of Punjab Govt. & two cars & one bus of office bearers of All India Kamboj Maha Sabha (Regd) Delhi remained along with the processions from Delhi to Sunam and thereafter form Sunam to Haridwar during the processions, thousands hand book & pamphlets on the life of National Hero Udham Singh were also distributed.
  5. After a long persuasion with Central Government by Maha Sabha, a commemorative postage stamp of the denomination of Rupee on of Martyr Udham Singh who has avenged the dishonor of his motherland and massacre of Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar tragedy was got issued by Government of India at the occasion of 52nd Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
  6. With the sincere efforts of Maha Sabha, a separate body “Shaheed Udham Singh Kamboj Samarak Trust (Regd) Delhi” was formed in the year 1970 at the occasion of Tomba Mela for the construction of Shaheed Udham Singh Samarak Sharamshala in 984 sq mtrs plot allotted by Delhi Administration at Shalimar Bagh Delhi. The foundation stone of the same was laid on 26th Dec 1981 by Shri N. R. Lashkar Hon’ble Health Minister Govt. of India in the presence of Ch. Des Raj Education Minister Haryana and the construction was completed within 4-5 years. Free kitchen/ free langar & other living facilities have since been provided for the travelers / visitors.
  7. With the offorts of All India Kamboj Maha Sabha, States and District Bodies, many memorials of great martyr Udham Singh, other freedom fighters and great personalities in the shape of four dozen marble statues including full size bronze statue of the Shaheed Udham Singh at the crossing outside the Hall Gate Amritsar & Sunam and about one dozen Dharamshalas at Sunam, Amritsar, Ferozepur, SAS Nagar Mohali (Pb), Sanour, Chandigarh, Delhi, Sirsa, Ratia, Radaur, Ambala, Bilaspur Town, Gadarpur, many Educational Institutions/ Colleges at Indri, Tohana (Haryana), Sunam, Tangori (Pb), Libraries, Dispensaries, Museums, Stadium, Colonies, Parks, Roads etc. in almost in all the states of Northern India have been constructed and installed respectively.
  8. Big conferences, Seminars, Workshops are being organized every year for the uplift of Kamboj Community in every sphere of life and to spread the philosophy of secularism, patriotism, brotherhood, national integration and communal harmony among all the Kambojas and to encourage advancement in Education, Socio-Economic development.
  9. Eye dispensary in the memory of Smt. Pushpawati who has donated her entire property to Shaheed Udham Singh Trust, Medical check up center and Homeopathic dispensary were opened at Shaheed Udham Singh Kamboj Samarak Dharamshala, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi for providing free treatment to poor and needy patients. For this, a team of qualified doctors have been appointed.
  10. Blood donation, Eye camp and free Medical check up camps are being organized at Delhi and elsewhere.
  11. Sincere efforts are being made to solve the various problems being faced by the community especially to fight against the social evils, menace of female foeticide, drug addiction, dowry, against smoking & liquer consumption.
  12. A monthly magazine “Kamboj Hiteshi” under the management of Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Trust Delhi was being published since 1976-77 successfully but unfortunately the publication of the same has been stopped recently. Souvenirs, pamphlets, hand notes, booklets, historical literature and calendars of freedom fighters were published & distributed free of cost on martyrdom days , Birth Anniversaries in order to disseminate the information to public about the freedom struggle.
  13. From time to time, the historians & distinguished writers who have published historical and biographical literature with the research materials on ancient Kamboj history martyrs & freedom fighters who have made supreme sacrifices for the liberation of our country are being encouraged and honored by the Maha Sabha so far, Dr. Jeeya Lal Kamboj, Babu Shiv Ram Das Mehrok, Sh. Hans Raj Khadim, Ch. Daulat Ram Kamboj, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, S. Kirpal Singh Dardi, Sh. Ved Prakash Kamboj, Master Harbans Singh Thind, Master Jogan Nath Sandhey, Master Bishan Singh Thind, Dr. Sikander Singh, Sh. Amanzan Kamboj & Shri Sham Lal Akhtar have been rewarded and honored for making extensive research in the ancient history & history of freedom fighters.
  14. The national and state level players, wrestlers, sportspersons and freedom fighters are being honored on the occasion of Martyrdom Days and Birth Anniversaries of Shaheed Udham Singh, Bhagat Singh & other freedom fighters. To encourage the wrestling among youths at Pankha Dangal Karnal, wrestler Chhiba Mal Patasianwala, Guru Hanuman, Master Chandgi Ram and others were honored by the office bearers of Maha Sabha, Miss Deepika Sarang National Sub Junior Weightlifter, Shri Navneet Kamboj K.V.S. National under 16 cricket player & Shri Perminder Singh National skater were also honored.
  15. Financial Aid was provided to Islamia Kamboj High School Malerkotla for the promotion of education.
  16. Financial Aid in the shape of books, fees & dresses were provided to some poor and needy students for higher students & intelligent students are being suitably rewarded & honored.
  17. Arrangements were made for providing of financial aid to some old & poor people and provided sewing machines to some poor and needy ladies.
  18. Steps are on / have been taken to foster global relations, friendship and brotherhood with Kamboj people living in Pakistan, Cambodia and other countries. Provision of proposal contact programmes through visit of delegations, exchange of cultural, sports and other social bodies ins sure to enhance the unity, brotherhood, peace & prosperity enabling us to work together in strengthening the bonds and bringing all the nations together. For people to people contact, Indo-Combodian Friendship and Cultural Association and Pak – India Friendship Society (Regd) have been formed. With the kind blessing of Venerable Bhikshu V. Dharamwara who was the royal guru of young Combodian Prince Naradom Sihanook, Shri Nank Chand Kamboj was elected as convener of Indo-Combodian Friendship & Cultural Association since 1969 and also trustee of Ashoka Mission Mehrouli, New Delhi. Similarly, Shri Arif Chaudhary Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Member of American Bar Association and Ex-Vice Chairman Punjab Bar Council Lahore is the President of Pak-India Friendship Society (Regd) and Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj is the Vice President of the society in India. Personal contacts have been established with the office bearers of above said bodies as well as with Anjuman Kambohan Pakistan (Regd) Lahore to foster universal brotherhood.
  19. Freedom fighters such as Shri Sukhpal Shastri, Shri Sham Lal Akhtar, Ch. Kanhaiya Ram, S. Dyal Singh Azad and other have been honored & rewarded.
  20. The Maha Sabha has taken up the proposal with state governments and central Government for setting up a University along with a “ Shaheed Udham Singh Chair of Modern History” in one of the University in the memory of Shaheed Udham Singh so that research on the supreme sacrifices made by martyrs / freedom fighters is highlighted and published in history books of schools & colleges.
  21. The All India Kamboj Maha Sabha has taken up the matter with Govt. of India for the installation of full sized bronze statue of Shaheed Udham Singh inside Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar & premises of Parliament house.
  22. Besides above office bearers,21 National Executive members from Delhi, Chandigarh , Ragasthen, Uttar Pradesh , Haryana & Punjab were nominated by the above office bearers. A constitution committee of the following six office bearers of Akhil Bhartiya Kamboj Maha Sabha Delhi.” Was formed on 22/12/1974 to prepare the constitution of the Maha Sabha & to submit the same within six months:-1. All India Kamboj Maha Sabha & List of National Executive Committee The All India Kamboj Maha Sabha is,”Akhil Bhartiya kamboj Maha Sabha” was formed at Kapal Mochan Fair Bilaspur Town (Haryana) on 28th Nov,1974 and registered with the Registrar of Firms & societies Delhi on 10th Feb,1994 vide Registration No. S/25479 of 1974. The Registered office of this national body is located at AE-199/200, Shalimar Bagh Delhi-110052 and its state and Districts bodies have been spread in most of the states of India. Ch. Karta Ram was elected its first president of the Maha Sabha & Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj as General secretary since its in inception and both remained continuously on the same ports since its in caption up to and of August 2005. Unfortunately, Ch. Karta Ram President of Maha Sabha expired on 25th August 2005. S. Joginder Singh Thind, Sr. Vice President of Shri Hardyal Singh Kamal Vice President of Maha Sabha also expired on 12/09/2005 & 18/08/2006 respectively. Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj General Secretary of Maha Sabha was elected nominate by the National Executive committee which was conducted on 22/07/2007 at Amar Ashram Patiala, Shri Nanak Chand Kamboj S.A.S. Nagar Mohali (Pb) was unanimously & re-elected as national President of Maha Sabha, S. Hardayal Singh Kamboj of Patiala (Pb.) as Sr. Vice President and Shri Gian Singh Kamboj as General Secretary of Maha Sabha respectively. The main aims & objectives as motioned in the constitution of National Maha Sabha are as under.
  1. To create a National & Global platform for the Kamboj Community and to foster national & Universal Kamboj Brotherhood.
  2. To create a National & philosophy & ideology of National Integration communal Harmony, Secularism, Patriotism & string the ring national and integrity of country.
  3. To solve the issues facing the community
  4. To protect and promote interest & welfare of the Kamboj community and interaction between community representatives living in India & other countries.
  5. To find the ways & means to strengthen the unity among the Kamboj community and catalyzing Kamboj energy towards national and global brotherhood, peace & prosperity enabling is to people contact.
  6. To set up Memorials of Martyrs/ Freedom Fighters.
  7. To set up Museums, Libraries, Educational & Health institutions & training centres.
  8. To publish the historical & biographical literature of Martyrs patriots Freedom Fighters.
  9. To arrange blood donation & eye camps, workshops, seminars, conferences, cultural & sports meets.
  10. To celebrate the Martyrdom days & Birth Anniversaries of Martyrs/Freedom Fighters.
  11. To offer prizes, awards, scholarships, stipends to encourage the deserving / needy & brilliant students for higher studies.
  12. To honour the sports persons, historians, writers and other personalities.
The following is the list of the elected / nominated office bearers & members of the National Executive Committee:- The All India Kamboj Maha Sabha was initially formed in the year of 1969 under the convener ship of Nanak chand on the occasion of Tomba Mela at kudsia Ghat Yamuna river near Tibetian Temple Delhi and later on, the election of the Maha Sabha was conducted at kapal Mela Bilaspur (Haryana)on 28th Nov, 1974 and registered.
