Josan is prominent subcaste of Kamboj community

Josan (जोसन या जोस्सन) is a subcaste of Kamboj clan and community found in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and other parts of India. Some of people belongs to this Josan subcaste also found in Punjab state of Pakistan. Josan falls under 52 gotra (broad division) of Kamboj caste. Josan sub-caste alongside other Kamboj / Kamboh people belong to the group of Indo-Aryan peoples.

Etymology: The various variations / derivations for Josan are used: Jossan or Josan or Josun or Jausen or Junsan or Jansan

Hans Raj Josan was a former Forest minister of Punjab. He belongs to Indian National Congress.
