Kambojas King mentioned in Kalidasa's Raghuvansham

The Kamboj people are the modern representatives of ancient Kambojas, a well known Kshatriya tribe of Indo-Aryans. Their Kamboja Kingdoms were likely located in regions on both sides of the Hindukush.

The ancestor of Lord Rama, Chakravartin Samrat King Raghu, who was a founder of Raghuvansh or Raghukul. Raghu was well-known for his warrior and brilliance, hence future generation came to be known as Raghuvansh. From then on thus generation came to be known as Raghukul. As part of the Ashwamedha Yagna, a horse was allowed to roam anywhere around out the world. If the horse went inside another kingdom, the king of the other kingdom either had to fight with the army of the king performing the yagna or accept the supremacy of the king.
