13-year-old Ananya Kamboj's book launched in Moscow

On June 13th, Moscow saw an unusual book release when the city's Moskvarium hosted the release of "My Journey from Mohali to St. Petersburg" penned by 13-year-old Ananya Kamboj. The book was released by Viktor Zubkov, Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors as part of the 6th season of the Football for Friendship (F4F) international children's social programme organized by Gazprom, an official partner of FIFA and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The book 'My Journey from Mohali to St. Petersburg' from Notion Press is an anthology of twenty one stories that helps you become a better person, personally or professionally and is something to be proud of. A positive impact in your life and you stand as a role model to the whole world. The 13-year-old writer who is inspired by her father wants to dedicate the book to her grandparents - Saroj Kamboj and Late Mr. Nanak Chand Kamboj.

Returning this year as a 'young gues' 13-year-old Ananya first became part of the "Football for Friendship" project in 2017 as a young journalist. When she returned to India, with lots of enthusiasm and stories to tell her father encouraged her to write a book about her experience. So Ananya took up the challenge, writing 'My Journey from Mohali to St. Petersburg' about the key values discussed at Football for Friendship. Ananya really believes that the programme can change lives: 'If you make friends around the globe then we would have peace and harmony across the globe. There would be no more wars'. She was awarded best journalist for her effort in spreading the values of the programme through her book. The Forum was attended by 1,500 children accompanied by adults, with around 5,000 guests and participants in total. The event featured boys and girls, including those with disabilities, who took part in the project as Young Footballers, Young Journalists, and Young Coaches. They were all driven by a common goal: to promote universal human values such as friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honor. The Forum's guests of honor included Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Olga Golodets, officials from the Russian Government, officials from United Nation, the Russian Olympic Committee, FIFA, heads of football federations, star footballers, Olympic and Paralympic champions, and public figures. Children were greeted by Iker Casillas, Spanish goalkeeper and the captain of the Portuguese club Porto, Alexander Kerzhakov, head coach of the Russian national under-17 football team, Firas Al-Khatib, Syrian footballer, and Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahim Al-Sayyar, Administrative Director of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
