Slumdog Millionaire won the Gloden globe award and was named as drama of the year and rewarding its director Danny Boyle, screenwriter Simon Beaufoy and composer A.R. Rahman.
The movie won Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Motion Picture awards. while A R Rahman becomes the first Indian to win the Golden globe award.
The film is based on a novel by Indian diplomat Vikash Swarup and stars Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in the lead among others.
The cast of Slumdog Millionaire arrive at the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Shot in Mumbai, AR Rahman's song Jai Ho has been penned by lyricist Gulzar. The film is based on a slum kid, who who participates in popular reality game show Kaun Banega Crorepati and wins Rs 2 crore.
A R Rahman who won the award for best music score dedicated it to the "billion people of India. The movie swept all four major awards it was nominated for, winning the best director award for Boyle, the best music score for Rahman, best screenplay for Simon Beaufoy and also in the category of best drama.
